Serial Supermarket Shenanigans [Part 10]
Coming in hot, with some more shenanigans!
For something nice, I see a pair of boys and their grandma coming up, so I greet them and they greet me back with "Hi, girlfriend!" Record scratch for me. Grandma laughs and says the boys call me the girlfriend, because I call them 'friends' (specifically, I use 'draudziņi', which is diminutive of 'draugi' meaning friends in plural, so, like buddy). Apparently, when they got everything, the boys even said to grandma "Let's go to girlfriend!" That was so nice!
Somebody broke one of the glass doors on the refrigerators with the frozen goods. No idea who did it. I wonder how they managed that.
It's quite adorable when babies try their best to help get the products on the lane. Most barely reach and just deposit it on the metal unmoving sides. One was throwing stuff as much as their little arms allowed them to. So, diapers didn't fly far…but a donut hit me in the head. That baby is going places.
German Guy tried to order a Cashier to sell him an item for what HE claims is correct and not that the system shows. Threatened to write a Scathing Google Review for us if the Cashier didn't do it – even cussing him out in German (which the Cashier understood perfectly as he studied German in school) when he reiterates that he has no control over it. Head Cashier just threw her head back and laughed when she was told about it.
I've seen a baby methodically chew through plastic covering to devour the cheese before it is even bought. This baby has few little baby teeth and is already a menace. I fear for ankles.
Drunk Guy Tries To Start Fight With Old Guy In Cowboy Hat – Old Guy gave no fucks, paid, told the Drunk to go to Ruzzia then and left. Drunk Guy just kept cussing out until Bodybuilder Guy behind him said loudly to finally pay and get out of everyone's way. Drunk Guy got very quiet then.
I've had five small kids try to eat the sticker packs. I don't think they look that tasty. No, I didn't give it to them, I gave it to their parents, who give it to them. No, wait, one was an older brother offering the stickers I gave him to the baby and the baby did a hard munch on the stickers.
Young Guy talked a different Drunk Guy into buying him and his friends alcohol and gave him the money. The total was more than he had been given, so Drunk Guy turns to the kid and asks for extra. Security Guard 2 caught onto that and Security Guard 1 – came in to shop on his day off – both stopped the Drunk Guy from leaving. I had been sitting in the SCO so didn't see what was going on, only that a teenage looking guy ran into the store after seeing the drunk cornered. Cops came and plenty of talking was going on.
For one reason or another – at one spot by the entrance, the same client dropped and shattered wine bottles, twice! That was fun to explain to the janitor, like, "Hey, dude, another bottle broke in the same place, it might be cursed-" "It's the same guy." "Same guy?! Oh, he's cursed then."
I was in line for some sweet, sweet cinnamon bun goodness - likely warm from the oven too! - and I saw a lady holding a blanket that was moving just a bit. I peaked my head around her shoulders to see what it is. Turns out: her pet ferret was burrito'd in it! So cute!
Parents Do Not Understand Why 2 Year Old Is Throwing A Tantrum – might not be because you guys admitted to waking him up just to go to the store at 22:30?! Why would you do that? What goes through people heads to drag kids to the supermarket late at night? What were they doing during the day that it took them to 22:30 to go to the store? How bad is your time management?
A big malamute came in. Well, was lead in by the owner. He was very polite doggo, only did small sniffs of stuff as he was walking by, but touched nothing. Was told that the only dogs that can come in are ones you can carry. Very civil, the both of them, but man did I want to sink into that fluffy coat. It looked so nice!
One day, we hear shouting from the direction of the bakery. Not too unusual, they also get weirdos, though theirs is more “I will sleep here if I want to!“ and “So what if I didn’t buy anything, I want to sit here!“ and “We will play all the loud music we want!“ But this one…
"All of you are dressed like you're going to a funeral! You only need to wear white!" – yells a weirdo 'chef' shouting at the bakery girls, who are wearing brown or orange or black shirts with company aprons over them. Not sure why he thought to share his opinion or what’s wrong with those colours. And how is orange a funeral colour?
Small Boy tried talking me into believing Huggy Wuggy (Poppy Playtime) could beat Metal Sonic in a fight – he had a stuffed Huggy Wuggy and his little sister was cradling a Metal Sonic plushy. I just politely nodded, but internally, honestly, it was “Stardust Speedway Intensifies!“ I mean, lore-wise, Huggy is getting bodied, let’s face it. Metal Sonic would have to be wrecked, losing power and about to die to lose to Huggy Wuggy.
Some guy tried to have me exchange 500 (five hundred) euros into smaller money. When I said I could not – because 1) told not to by the managers 2) the security staff in HQ are watching us to make sure we don’t do any mishandling with money, so even if we wanted to, we can’t exhcange money and 3) I do not nearly have enough money to do that – he huffed and walked away.
I later saw him walking into the building and him triumphantly announcing to me that our pharmacy exchanged the money.
Except, recall that I said 'walked into the building'. The pharmacy in question is inside the building.
Yeah, good that I didn't exchange the likely-fake-money. We did have more than one person coming in with fake money. First time I saw that was with a older man and his fake 50 euros. One side was okay and shining, the other was not reacting to the UV light at all. I was manning the Self-Check-Out when I saw two cops walking up to the guy, who sat down in the bakery, before escorting him to the police wagon outside. I’ve only heard of other times - some youths came in with fake 20s and such - but nothing much beyond that.
Alright, part 10 done, onto part 11!
