Waterfalls in Bastejkalns Park
Once part of the Riga Fortress, before it wad demolished in 1856, then made into a park from 1859. The waterfall cascade was built from dolomite brought from Saulkalne into the hill was built in 1898. It has survived to the present day, but no longer with the less sophisticated underwater lighting that was still operational at the beginning of the last century.
A very pretty place, with a great view and relative peace, considering the hustle and bustle of downtown is all around it!
